Today we are going to explore more about technical SEO audit points and its checklist.

This topic almost on-trend, every year, I see new updates in SEO audit, but do you which points we must focus on to improve the performance of the website. I m not a coding guy, but after three years of SEO experience, I know these points almost covers by every marketer.

But What is a Technical SEO Audit?

A technical site audit is a report of your website from every perspective, like backlinks, authority, social presence, etc.

Why Do We Need to Prepare a Technical SEO Report?

Yes, that’s necessary, rewind yourself, why you or your client launch website, everybody wants millions of traffic and generate revenue or sales from.

 

To be fair in a traffic gaining race, Google has set up rules and guidelines. If your clean and attractive, then your winner.

The first thing you need to do is analyze websites’ authority, like domain authority, and pages authority, they are trusted factor if the website has thousands of backlinks or its old domain, then definitely sites have higher DA, PA.

Page rank is an algorithm produced by google. Page rank gives a ranking number to your sites from 1 to 10, the lower site near to 1.

Website Current Load Time

Why website load time affects the performance of the website in SERP, Google crawls millions of pages in a single day. Google needs to manage the factors of every website and bring all results back to the user when search term fires.

Heres how much time google takes to deliver results.

There is another way to check site speed if you don’t wish to check manually. Google webmaster now fetches your website and show it in your enhancement report under site speed.

Keep the theme of your website at a minimum level. Do not add a new fancy or moving element to your websites. That’s usually delaying to complete load of the website.

Https Status, Redirection Error, Neighborhood IP

Many of us have created lots of websites. But sometimes, we change our minds for some reason and want to redirect to a new address or secure address.

That’s a problematic condition because crawler first identify your sites as www.example.com then you wish to change to https://www.example.com

There are lots of redirection issue happens if you did a wrong procedure, like 304, 307, 400 and many more.

Redirection issue causes you to lose your traffic by up to 90%. So be careful when you are about to changes the website address.

Bad neighbors hurt your reputation. Sometimes, we purchased the domain from hosting company at the same time, they sell remaining server space to other owners, and they run adult and gambling related sites on the same server, so usually try to avoid shared hosting plan.

Online business presence is a must to analyze things. Currently, there are tons of website which provides online business listing. Yea, but it’s not that easy to check every business listing, weather it associated with proper business name, address, contact details.

Analyze Social Media

Social media is far now the most important thing to check, whether the business has any social media presence. Social media is now a boom for higher traffic.

Check youtube, facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Active social media pages lead to almost half of the traffic to that of Google.

Headings Tag

The website must be divide into at least three parts, first part which is known as h1, that’s is heading tags, second is h2, and rest is h3, the crawler needs to know, which one is the title of the particular page. The rest part is for a bullet list of points, consider as h2 and h3.

If the website does not contain any heading, the try to divide contain in a paragraph and put short keyword-rich title or topic, which helps to understand the page content.

Images alt

Image is the most engaging part of any website. Without image, not a single webpage can survive. Whether its image, poster, infographic, that’s a type of image.

If your including image to post, try to give them alt name. Because, as we know, Google does not have an image identifying technology, but the crawler can classify an image using its alt name.

It is an excellent way to give proper keyword-rich alt, which helps you rank image in SERP of google.

Meta Title and Description

The meta tag is continuously gaining popularity, because google match your query result, with meta title and description,

Meta is a 60-word title, convincible, and beautifully crafted with keywords. Properly optimize meta tags can help achieve 30% more traffic from google.
